Essential High Holidays

Essential High Holidays

What: A service that makes it easier for you to access the parts of High Holidays that are most popular, especially if you prefer smaller crowds and less traffic. Open and free to B’nai Torah members and the community.

When:

  • Essential Rosh Hashanah: Monday, September 30 from 5:00-6:30 PM
    • Includes Rabbi Heller’s sermon, shofar service, and the most important prayers that follow. We’ll end with apples and honey. Attendees are invited to stay for the evening service at 6:30 PM.

  • Essential Yom Kippur: Yom Kippur Afternoon, October 9 from 4:30-5:30 PM
    • Includes Rabbi Heller’s Yizkor sermon and the Yizkor service. Attendees are encouraged to stay for the Mincha service, which includes the traditional prayers of repentance, and Ne’eila, an opportunity to stand before the ark and finish Yom Kippur.

Parking will be available on site and in short walking distance, and attendees will be accommodated in the main sanctuary of the synagogue. A parallel activity will be offered for children grades K-2 and 3-5. Children in grades 6 and up are invited to participate in the service.
