Fighting Anti-Semitism under the Dome
03/17/2023 02:41:55 PM
HB30 is finally going to be heard in the Senate Judiciary Committee, this coming Monday, March 20 at 4pm, in room 307 of the Coverdale Legislative Office Building, across the street from the Capitol.
And, this is where your help comes in!
Act on March 19th and 20th by reaching out directly to Senate Judiciary Members
In the coming days, you may also need to reach out to Senate Rules Members and Your State Senator.
Here is a draft message that you can use:
Dear Senator LAST NAME,
I am writing to you to urge your support of H.B.30, a bill that would adopt the IHRA Definition of antisemitism into Title 50 of the Georgia code.
The IHRA Definition is considered the gold-standard definition of antisemitism. While other definitions of antisemitism exist, IHRA has been endorsed and adopted around the world – by more than 30 governments – and throughout the United States – by more than half of the U.S. States – and will serve as an essential guide for government officials, educators, and the public for understanding the many forms of antisemitism and how to properly combat it.
Thank you for your time and consideration on this important issue.
Sincerely,
NAME (ZIP CODE)
