Our mission is to promote social interaction and greater involvement in the synagogue. We like to think that Brotherhood is an excellent way to meet other members of the Shul on an informal basis given our wide variety of programs. We have four main areas of focus: Religious, Sports, Social and Community. While some of our programs are Brotherhood-only, the majority are open to the broader Shul community and may be family-oriented or take place in conjunction with other CBT groups. From a ruach perspective, the Brotherhood is responsible for High Holiday ushering, organizing the annual Sukkah Building Contest, and leading participation in the World Wide Wrap.
Sports. Brotherhood sponsors a softball team in the MJCCA synagogue league – the CBT team has won the League Championship three years running.
Social. Our monthly Sunday poker nights are one of the highlights of the CBT social calendar. We also organize brotherhood trips to watch our local sports heroes: last season’s visit to the Atlanta Hawks was a great success, and we also are planning a Falcons game where you can scout players for our Tzedekah Fantasy Football league.
Community. Brotherhood organizes several Shul-wide blood drives each year. Lox & bagels, juice and cookies will be served to donors. We also provide volunteers and participate in the Hanukkah Festival and Purim Carnival.
We hope our variety of programs will allow you to find something of interest and help you get more involved. Please feel free to contact us with any questions.
